NYFW - Alice & Olivia, Custo Barcelona, Leanne Marshall

I had the most incredible time at Fashion Week this year. The dream has become reality, I just can not wait for the Fall! Praying big time for access to more shows and events. I can not wait to connect with other bloggers, fashionistas and all-around amazing people.

When I think Custo Barcelona I think color, heat, attitude and short hemlines. Frigid temperatures did not allow me to strut my stuff too much, but I went for layers and classics again with this look.

Inside the tents at Custo I warmed up right away. The collect was vibrant, young and super fun.

Next, I headed downtown to the Alice & Olivia by Stacey Bendet presentation. I wanted every single piece in this collection. The collection channeled rock and roll London in the late 60's and early 70s. There were fabulous textures and vibrant prints. I wanted to steal every boot, particularly the mohair leopard over the knee numbers. Floral jacquards, mod miniskirts, lengthy pea coats, furs and graphic prints, I could not get enough!!! Enjoy this lush vibrant collection.

Final show of the season, Leanne Marshall. This designer won the 5th season of Project Runway.  To be honest, I did not watch the full season, but I remembered Leanne for her soft girlie outfits. This collection of 42 looks was flowing, feminine, sexy and etherial. It was jam packed with sheer chiffon, empire waists, jewel toned color palettes, and was truly whimsical.

Au revoir Fashion Week. Thanks for all your fun. I can not wait until the Fall.

NYFW - Jay Godfrey & Mara Hoffman

Let's hit the tents! For those of you not familiar with what happens at Fashion Week, here is a brief overview. There are a variety of ways designers present their lines. There is the traditional runway show, in which models walk showcasing the outfits. This usually lasts around 10 minute, each look you only see for about 30 seconds. The other is a presentation. In a presentation, models stand around the room modeling the outfits. You are able to get up close and really see the designs.

The first collection I had the privilege to preview was from Jay Godfrey. Jay showcased 15 glamorous looks. His color palette ranged from bright Passion Orchid to soft Charcoal. Sleek silhouettes and thigh-high slits, feminine and gentle. His pieces are all incredibly wearable for the fashion forward lady.

Next up, Mara Hoffman. I think that this was my favorite experience of Fashion Week. Not just because I love her clothing, but a number of my friends, fellow bloggers and fashionistas, were in attendance. It was awesome too look around the room and see so many incredible familiar faces.

I was hoping that Mara's 38 fabulous looks would walk off the runway an into my closet. It was bursting with tweed, knits, chiffon skirts, printed wool and oversized scarves.

TRESemmé, one of the sponsors of Fashion Week, was providing free dry hairstyling for attendees. I couldn't help but be pampered a bit. It was the end of the day, so I told the stylist to just go for it. He channeled old Hollywood glamour with this look.

Nothing better than doing Fashion Week with friends. Don't worry...there's more to come!
